C Corp

« Back to Glossary Index

A C-Corporation, or C-Corp, is a business structure that is legally separate from its owners. Unlike an LLC, a C-Corp pays corporate income taxes and may face double taxation on dividends. However, C-Corps offer advantages such as easier access to investors, unlimited shareholders, and more established tax rules. Large companies often choose this structure for growth and fundraising flexibility. Comparing LLCs to C-Corps is a common step in the business formation process.
